Emergency Foster Program
Tails of The Misunderstood Canine Rescue Society offers short term fostering for people in crisis through the Emergency Foster Program. This is a last resort program for anyone who is unable to care for their dog(s) temporarily. Crises are dependent on individual circumstances and if we have foster homes available at the time of crisis. We do ask for a small donation of $50 at entry into the Emergency Foster Program. We also guarantee your dog’s stay with us will be strictly confidential and will not post on our social media accounts, website or personal social media accounts.
Length of stay is max 10 days.
Proof of ownership, vaccination history, vetting documentation, and your Government Issued Photo ID is required.
You will be required to sign the Emergency Foster Program Owner Agreement.
Vaccinations are required and will be arranged at owner’s expense prior to coming into the program.
Dog’s will be provided with daily food, water, socialization, exercise.
Visitation is not permitted, but we can give updates daily.
Emergency Food Bank Program
Tails of The Misunderstood Canine Rescue Society offers emergency food for the Emergency Food Bank Program. This is a last resort program for anyone who is unable to feed their dog(s) before surrendering becomes an option. The Emergency Food Bank Program will allow 7-14 days worth of food for your dog(s). Please note food is not specific and changes all the time so we can not guarnetee if you will receive the brand of dog food your dog(s) are on. You can use this program three times a year and if you require it after the 7-14 days it will be under the sole disresction of the President of the Rescue.

Your Government Issued Photo ID is required.
You will be required to sign the Emergency Food Bank Program Owner Agreement.
Tails of The Misunderstood Canine Rescue Society offers Subsidized Training for low income or families thinking about surrendering due to a behavioural issue. Costs associated with this are dependent on our Trainers schedules, allotted time and type of training. We have trainers that offer group classes, and one on one sessions. We have 4 trainers we work with and not all will be available at the same time. Please email us with your training questions and we will be happy to set something up with you. First consultation is $25 paid directly to the trainer.
Tails of The Misunderstood Canine Rescue Society offers Subsidized vetting for low income households or families unable to afford regular treatments. This will also be open to cats.
